Maranello & outskirts<\/span> Umberto Panini Maserati Collection <\/h1>[vc_column_text css=””]Born in 1930 in Pozza di Maranello (MO), Umberto Panini<\/strong> is famous for his “paper empire,” the renowned Panini stickers<\/strong> brand, which he founded and that we all know. Few people know, however, that he was also a great Maserati<\/strong> enthusiast and that he was the one to save the famous Maserati Museum<\/strong>, which housed the original vehicles as well as the experimental prototypes of the historic car manufacturer.<\/p>\n

Umberto Panini Collection<\/span> The history of the Maserati museum <\/h2>[vc_column_text css=””]The museum gathered the most significant vehicles produced since 1924<\/strong> as well as experimental prototypes, creating over the decades a collection of cars, engines, and components unique in the world<\/strong>, capable of illustrating the historical, technical, and stylistic evolution of the Company. The museum constituted a very precious heritage for the city of Modena, until its fate was jeopardized by FIAT’s acquisition of Maserati<\/strong>, and it risked losing some of the collection’s highlights.<\/p>\n

Umberto Panini, responding to the call for help from enthusiasts and the Minister of Cultural Heritage, arranged to withdraw the cars that were to be auctioned<\/strong> and “park” them in one of his properties, the Panini family’s Hombre agri-food company just outside the outskirts of Modena, between the localities of Baggiovara and Cognento, so that they could once again be public heritage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Since then, the collection of 19 historic Maserati cars<\/strong> can be visited at what is now called CUP, Umberto Panini Collection, in honor of a man who loved engines and Italian tradition.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” content_placement=”middle” css=”.vc_custom_1773836900619{padding-top: 0px !important;padding-bottom: 4em !important;background-color: #101010 !important;}”][vc_column width=”1\/2″]
